Things we love

- the bike -

We have a new colleague at the office. Blue Ivy. Well basically it's a bike, a very cool bike blue designer bike. It was a gift for Liesbeth from Levi's and has now become a staff favourite. Favourites always get a name especially if they take us places. It's the appropriate thing to do, that why we called her ‘Blue Ivy’. We're delighted when people say they're taking Blue Ivy out for a ride and insulted when someone says they want to lend a bike. It's not a bike it's Blue Ivy.

The bike I have at home is called the Mole. A fitting name as it's black and terribly slow. Liesbeth comes to the office every day on Daisy. A bright pink bike that is practically falling to pieces, her name is the only thing keeping her together. In Amsterdam I keep spotted panther, an old bike I spray-painted gold but got all spotty after getting caught in the rain too soon after painting it. It's a real survivor, battered, but loyally taking me anywhere I want to go. It really lives up to his name.

Our bikes are saints; we don't give them nicknames for nothing. We consider them part of the family. So be warned; I you mess with our bikes you've got to answer to us, so watch out.
