Tips for getting through a way too busy day

You know that? That you wake up and even before you get out of bed you think: this is going to be a stressful day? You have too much planned, your to-do list is too long and you actually want to go to bed on time that night, because you have been tired for days. So then you need to very deep breaths in and out otherwise you will go crazy. Then it makes sense to write down what you all ‘have’ to do that day. So make a to-do list. After that, you will probably see that it is unachievable, so then it is necessary to delete things. Trust me, an unachievable to-do list is terrible and that makes you completely panic (or am I just speaking for myself now?). Think about which to-do's you can just shift to another day, but then don't shift at all that gym class which you actually like so much, because that actually relaxes you a bit, and I guess if you didn't exercise after a stressful day either, you'd be even more bummed. Right?

Well, everyone has days like this from time to time and that is not a bad thing, but try to get out of it as quickly as possible and relax again. Think about what you like and what relaxes you and give yourself time for that. Dining with girlfriends, go to the sauna for a while, go for a run, just watch a series on the couch, cook elaborately, I name it. Do it seriously, cancel something, make space. I'll give you more tips on how to make a jam-packed day flow in a relaxed way.

If you know it's going to be a busy day, it's useful to make a list the night before, that already gives you space.

Make sure your house is tidy. When you get up in a pigsty (this is what my bedroom often looks like), it is already chaos in your mind.

Look, I don't know if you spend hours in front of your wardrobe every morning, but you can also prepare some a day in advance, which saves a lot of time.

Put on your favourite music. I very often put on headphones when I notice I am a bit restless.

Lighting candles for me also helps a lot for space in my head, it calms me down.

Then it is also important not to do too much. If I have to do a lot, I prefer to go straight to bed. It is much more fun if you want something. Think about that in your head.

It sounds a bit crazy, but just cuddle with someone for a while. Seriously, it helps take your stress away for a while.

Move, move, move, I can say it a thousand times. Sport makes it relax in your mind.

Forgive yourself if something on your list did not work out. Be kind to yourself. That is the most important thing.
