WHY IT IS REALLY NECESSARY
that we get an editorial piglet
About 84 times a day we are pulled away from our work because someone of us is tagged in a post, photo, or video on Facebook. You can bet your bottom dollar that it’s Josselin or Jet (especially Josselin by the way) who has found another cute video of a baby animal and then we are all completely off track for 10 minutes because oooh and aaah this is SO SO CUTE.
About what our favorite animal is we can really discuss endlessly and opinions are divided. I always vote for something with cats but I am also very charmed by baby deer, May chooses a baby puppy, Joss votes for a baby elephant, and Jet, well, that’s a different case: “no idea, anything that is a baby actually.” By the way, she mainly refers to human babies and preferably her own, but that’s another topic. Well, baby animals then, we love them and we want one in the office as an editorial baby animal.
But then the question, which animal? A baby cat seems a bit awkward because it keeps walking over your keyboard. A baby elephant, well that makes such a noise and we already find it so difficult to stay concentrated. A baby puppy needs to be taken out too often so that doesn’t work either and a human baby, I personally put a stop to that. But after some deliberation, we have found the perfect editorial animal so dear May and dear publisher, please pay close attention.
Our logo is pink, so why shouldn’t our baby editorial animal be too?
We would like a baby editorial piglet. A pink one, with tiny little trotters and a soft little snout. A mini piglet, which stays small forever and let’s be honest, such a pink piglet is the perfect accessory for our stark white office, right? Our logo is pink, so why shouldn’t our baby editorial animal be too? You see, it makes sense in every way. We will have an extensive meeting about the name and okay, you can also have your say about that. During the day, the piglet will trot around the office and you should know that piglets are really smart so he or she will be house-trained in no time. Also, we won’t be distracted by videos of baby piglets anymore because then we will have our own piglet and that will bring a lot of peace in the office. For the evenings and weekends, we will arrange a babysitting service so there’s no obstacle there either.
When you think about it, it’s quite strange that we don’t have a baby editorial animal yet because any decent editorial team really has a baby animal. But we will overlook that and well, once our baby editorial piglet is here, it will all be water under the bridge. That’s just how we are. Shall we all go to the baby editorial piglet farm soon? That would be a nice outing to celebrate that we are all back from New York. I’ll hear when it suits you. Cheers!
P.S.: this is a bit the model baby piglet that we have in mind:
