WHY SHOPPING ALONE

IS SO MUCH NICER

I never quite understand why women prefer to shuffle from store to store in groups. Shopping alone is so incredibly much nicer, and let me tell you why.

Your own pace

If you feel the need to touch and examine every item in store A, but in store B you’ve had enough after just one glance, that’s perfectly fine. No one is sighing and groaning behind you. And if you feel like having an extensive lunch in a nearby café or if you want to rush through the city without taking a break, no one will bat an eye.

You don’t have to be ashamed of anything

Occasionally, I find my own shopping behavior quite annoying. Trying on something for a very long time, then wanting the same item in a smaller or larger size, maybe a different color, trying it on again, and it just goes on and on. It takes forever and is not effective at all, but since there’s no one around to witness that indecisive behavior, I don’t care at all.

You don’t have to be ashamed of anything part 2

Sometimes you see a piece hanging that you know you’re not going to buy or wear and that isn’t really your style at all, but you still want to try it on. Just to see how it looks. Someone else might find that a waste of time and also quite curious that you feel the need to squeeze yourself into a latex strapless evening gown (this has never happened, really).

You don’t have to justify yourself

A pretty standard gray sweater for 300 bucks? Just don’t tell anyone and pay up happily. No piercing eyes in your neck while you’re making ridiculous purchases that you really can’t justify with any argument.

You make fewer impulse buys

Because you know best what works for you and what doesn’t, and no one is trying to convince you that that dress is really a good idea. You hesitate, your friend pushes you over the edge because “it’s nice to try something different” and then you end up with a piece you never wear.
