Why we are so excited about New York

Today is the day that the week begins in which we are going to New York. This coming Friday at 10:35, your editors will take to the skies to the coolest city on earth, and it is probably unnecessary to say that we are extremely looking forward to it. And for the following reasons.

We are going to see the most beautiful clothes

And not just on the catwalk, but also and especially on the street. As we all know, the street might just be the biggest catwalk and the hysteria we encounter there is particularly entertaining. Last February, I was very worried about all those crazy women who appear on stage with bare legs, and this year I am going to study again to discover how they do that. Furthermore, I am really looking forward to all the looks from Leandra Medine, who always manages to look the coolest of everyone.

We are going to discover New York

Because Fashion Week is fun, New York is more fun. Jet is moving her fit & healthy office to New York and will be looking for the latest sports trends and best juice bars for you. I was last a tourist in New York when I was 16 and everyone laughs at me for it, but I really want to go to Times Square. Too cheesy, I know, but I want to. Furthermore, I intend to ask a few nice men about dating in New York, because you understand, I want to know everything about it.

We are going to celebrate Valentine's Day in New York

Okay, not necessarily my favorite but Jet is jumping for joy. Josselin can't get too worked up about it either, but the day after is her birthday and she is looking forward to that. And so am I.

We are going shopping

Because duh. It is also important not to arrive with an overstuffed suitcase because then there is no room for all the new clothes. The suitcase packing dilemma is already in full swing and our New York WhatsApp group is flooded with photos of clothing items and the question of whether they should come to New York. Especially Josselin is in a slight state of panic because she has no idea which shoes to bring. You should know, some time ago she broke her foot during a night out in heels, so she has now imposed a heel ban on herself. But well, going to fancy cocktail bars in sneakers is also a bit much, so: panic. Ladies and gentlemen from all sneaker companies, help this woman and send her cocktail bar-proof sneakers!

We are going to stalk Olivia Palermo

Again, because duh. Anyone who has been reading here on Amayzine for a while knows that the universe does not want Olivia and me to meet. Last year in New York, it went hopelessly wrong, last September in London we damn slept in the same hotel but there was no question of a meeting. I did see her husband Johannes in New York, jumped on top of him and took a photo with him. But well, Olivia and I, that just doesn't work. For now, because goddammit it has to work this time. It must!
