WHY YOU SHOULD WAKE UP EARLY

if you want to be successful at least

Waking up early

Put the daily schedules of all great entrepreneurs side by side and one thing stands out; they are all early birds. Now I also wake up ridiculously early (the alarm goes off again at 06:15) but that is not necessarily a voluntary choice.

If I want to be successful, as I read on the Huffington Post, I need to be at least an hour out of bed before the world around me wakes up.

Just a group of people in which row I then end up. Richard Branson for example. His alarm rings at 05:00. “It gives me time to take in the news at my own pace, respond to emails, and spend time with my family which gives me a calm start to the day.”

Michelle Obama wakes up half an hour earlier; at 04:30.

Michelle Obama wakes up half an hour earlier; at 04:30. She has time to exercise before she gets lost in her daily whirlwind. Anna Wintour. Another early riser who goes to bed at 22:00 and jumps into her tennis outfit at 05:00.

You are ahead of the world around you, not bothered by others who might just call you or expect an RSVP immediately. Every minute feels like a bonus.

And if you are awake anyway, you can immediately enjoy that fantastic sunrise (as one of the few).

Here are some tips to make the start of the day even better.

Drink water

You need hydration because you haven't had anything for seven to eight hours.

Make your bed

The ritual of neatly making your bed helps you get into the right groove. You will be more productive that day than if you roll out of bed in a rush and throw on your unwashed clothes from yesterday. Moreover, it’s much nicer to come home to.

HAVE a healthy breakfast

You want to hold onto that energy, otherwise you might as well lie down in a corner and sleep.

Set priorities

Think about what you really want to accomplish today, what you can delegate, and what really doesn’t have priority right now.

And in the meantime, think of all those fellow early risers who have achieved so much in life. Will you join me and set your alarm for an ungodly hour tomorrow? And will we see each other somewhere in the Quote 500?
