5 MISTAKES EVEN MAKE-UP ARTISTS MAKE

Sometimes we make the error of walking out the door looking like an Oompa Loompa because we used the wrong color bronzer: story of our life. Just like putting having lipstick on your teeth, eyebrows that are a shade too dark or lashes that are all clumped up together. And guess what, even the best of the best make-up artists make mistakes. They (I won’t name any names) mentioned a couple of mistakes they’re guilty of making too.

Too much transparent powder

Drenching your brush in a pot of powder, then blow on it like you do when your food’s too hot. You’d think nothing can go wrong here, but it can. When you’re in front of a mirror in a studio, the lighting will be different than when you’re actually in front of the photographers lens and this can lead to an Angelina Jolie moment you’d rather avoid. (Incase you missed it: Angie once showed up on a red carpet with an extremely pale face because she had been covered in way too much powder.)

Badly shaped brows

There are a few simple rules when it comes to shaping your brows, but the most important aspect of it is that it suits you face. And you also have to keep the color in mind that suits your face, the shape and the products. So to be fair, it’s quite the work of art to get the perfect brow. And even artists make mistakes.

Contouring

Every make-up artists is always very enthusiast about contouring and highlighting. They get to play around with darker powders and highlighters to add more shapes and forms to your face. However, some artists don’t realize that contouring is meant to make the features you already have stand out even more. Which leads to awkward errors.

Foundation fail

Even though make-up artists always show up with bags full of different bottles and tubes to create a foundation color that matches your skin tone, it can still go wrong. It’s important to look at the natural tone of someone’s skin before they start mixing and matching. And make sure they’ve got good lighting.

Lip liners

To make your lips look even bigger, it’s easy to use a liner. Thanks to Kylie Jenner, this is a trend we’ve all accepted with our arms wide open. But this too, can go wrong because make-up artists can get a little too excited and overdo it with bright colors and way too thick lining.
