5 minute makeovers for your home
If I didn't have a job and social life, I would be tinkering around the house all day. A little garland here, a newly painted wall there, and oh, I would also teach myself a bit of plastering, bricklaying, and carpentry to give my home some new flair. I was definitely not born as the DIY queen, but there is a bit of creativity in me. What I enjoy most is changing my home a bit. Even more fun is when it catches people's attention. For example, my mother-in-law always makes quite an impression when she sees that a cabinet has been moved five centimeters to the left or when she notices that there's a different photo in the frame. Look, that's something a person like me does well. And that's why she is my favorite mother-in-law.
Another point is: such a makeover takes a huge amount of time. Almost impossible. Hanging a picture frame takes an average of three hours (where is the level, which photo, and where should it hang?), let alone painting a wall (choosing a color takes an average of three days, painting about three hours, scraping paint because I've been too messy for the three months after...). So it's all a hassle. And that's why I have the solution here: 5 minute makeovers. Much more convenient. And if you have an observant mother-in-law, this will also earn you compliments. Organizing shelves.
Shelves are incredibly handy, but they also look unbelievably messy. Often, it's a collection point for keys, notes,

Back to point 1. You don't have to just throw everything in the trash or in a box. That would be a huge waste. You probably also have a shelf with vases, frames, souvenirs, and who knows what else. That could use some tidying up. Take a very critical look at the shelf. Is that keychain from Ibiza still so dear to you? And are you still friends with the ladies in the frame? No? Get rid of it. Clean up the place, then everything looks new again and the things that are still there get the attention they deserve.

Color. Nature. All good things. Well, painting a wall takes some time, but putting a plant in the room can be done very quickly. Moreover, a plant does a lot of good for your interior anyway. Just look here.
Coordinate your bookshelf.
People don't really think about it, but a bookshelf is really a messy point. Often, books are standing crooked and that just doesn't look good. Throwing away books is a huge shame, so go through it critically and just organize it. Straighten the covers (or by color, hysterically funny, but so sensitive to overview) and put unimportant books in places where you actually can't reach them. Handy tip: do you have ugly books that you want to hide? Then place a nice book (like a coffee table book) in front of it. That way, you cover the ugly one and put one in the spotlight. Works well, because it also immediately makes it seem like you have space left in your shelf.
Artwork.
Bring out that favorite drawing from your nephew and hang it on the wall. A blank wall, of course. It adds a bit of atmosphere and makes your home très personal. If you don't have the
