5 TIPS FOR YOGA BEGINNERS

In Ibiza, I did 20 hours of yoga in one week. That's a lot. At some point, you'll have the “candle” and the “bridge” down. But I'm definitely not a pro; in fact, there are often enough moments when I'm thinking about my to-do list during a class. It's quite an art to completely let go, but when it works, it's amazing. Are you planning to start “doing yoga” as well? I'll give you a few tips before you begin.

  • Take your time. It's really not that you'll have it down after the first class. You probably feel very stiff, clumsy, and you can't do it at all. I felt the same, and there are still plenty of exercises that drive me crazy because I just can't get them right.
  • Everything revolves around breathing. Everything.
  • You can also easily do a bit of yoga at home. Make it comfortable for yourself. Turn up the heating, light some candles... On YouTube, you'll find many different workouts. It can even just be a quarter of an hour. A few times a week for a quarter of an hour is better than once for an hour.
  • Invest in good gear. A nice mat, comfortable yoga pants, a sports bra, and a nice top.
  • Also, Google some yoga music. I mean it: it immediately brings peace to your mind.
