6 ACTIVE THINGS YOU CAN DO IN CHRISTMAS SPIRIT
Yeah guys, all fun and nice, all those holidays this month. But do you know how many calories come in from all that snacking and drinking? A Christmas cookie: 50 kcal each. And yes, let's be honest: one is none. And those calories won't just disappear, you know.
Still, you can do quite a few fun and also active things to stay in the festive mood, all with a Christmas touch. So come on, get off that couch, pull your loved one by their hair, and go out.
1. Ice Skating
It doesn't have to freeze for days to put on your skates. In almost every city, there is a nice ice rink this month. The most fun is among all those lights and Christmas jingles. And okay, you can have a glass of glühwein after you've skated a few rounds. During that hour, you burn no less than 400 kcal. So four glasses are fine too... Haha!
2. Boating
Boating through the canals along the Amsterdam City Lights. Oh wait, that doesn't count of course... The boat moves, not you. No worries, the festival taking place in the city center can also be admired via a walking route.
3. Cycling
Hop on your bike and look for a cozy village and a hidden Christmas market. Do you live in Amsterdam? Then take your bike to Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, where the Winter Festival is taking place this weekend; slurp glühwein and eat warm waffles. Fuel for the way back, right?
4. Walking
Are you, like me, already catching the Christmas fever? Mark December 13 in your calendar. We're going to Delft for the now-famous lights evening. What's so fun about it? All the buildings in the historic center of the city are decorated with special lighting. There are also church concerts and a Christmas market, but the lighting of the tree in the Market is also on the evening's activity program.
5. Chopping Wood
Starting the fire together is couple goals, but first having to chop the wood together is double couple goals. And it's also good for the biceps... Pack a picnic basket and head to the woods. I want to do it. Who else?
6. Winter Efteling
Hands up for those who, like me, are fans of the Efteling. And to make it even cozier, there is the Winter Efteling. And you can definitely go there even if you don't have kids. By all that wandering, you also burn the necessary calories, but you do have to walk around the oliebollen stall.
What do you mean, you don't know what to do this weekend?
