6 X WHY RENSKE MUST HAVE THIS BELT A.K.A. THE GUCCI EFFECT
So I am (together with Elke and May) obsessed with a belt. A very special belt! But let me not be too mysterious about it, because you can already see it in the picture. It’s about the double G buckle from Gucci with a golden clover. What a luxury, what a quirkiness, what a nineties vibe. I just know for sure that you must have it too. But I definitely must have it. Read quickly why.
1. I really need a belt because I have lost no less than ten kilos. Of course, I could just buy all new pants, but I think that’s a waste. I bought a bunch of new pants in March/April! So that’s what I’m saying: I need that belt.
P.S.: The fact that I’m not going to buy new pants is a lie, but yeah.
2. This belt is very handy if you have a hangover because when you wear this belt, everyone pays attention to your belt instead of your hungover face. That’s what I’m saying: smart! Besides, I often have a hangover. Meow.
Gucci is hot, Gucci is the bomb. There is even talk of a real Gucci effect.
3. Okay, that was really very VERY lame. We’re going to talk about the belt again. It’s also a great belt for when you have a pimple. Now luckily I haven’t had any pimples since I turned 26, but suppose I get one again, at least I know there’s light at the end of the tunnel in the form of my belt.
4. The belt is excellent for hiding a cold sore. Or well, not really hiding of course, you don’t wear a belt over your lip, but you understand. With this belt, I never have to feel miserable when I have a cold sore! How wonderful. What a relief. By the way, did you know that I had a fókking cold sore on my first day at Amayzine? Just something for me.
5. The belt would go well with my fantastically beautifully decorated, nerdy Gucci sunglasses. Which by the way has a blind spot. I mean, sunglasses with a blind spot! NO WORDS FOR THAT BIZARRE LUXURY. Apparently, they at Gucci think I always get driven around? That there are OTHER people who pay attention to me in traffic? Good plan by the way. Anyway: the glasses and the belt would form a truly unique ensemble. An ensemble that could make people fall over backwards. And what could be more delightful than having people fall over backwards from your appearance?! That’s what I mean: nothing.
6. You don’t have to think in total looks at all (anymore), with the double G belt you make every outfit cool. Believe me, this belt really does all the work. It’s really a very hardworking belt.
HAHAHAHA – I also like to laugh at my jokes – HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAA HAHAAAAA.
Well well well, it wasn’t that great either.

All joking aside, Gucci is hot, Gucci is the bomb. There is even talk of a real Gucci effect. Everyone wants Gucci. And so do I. I wanted Gucci first. Stronger: I live Gucci. I am Gucci. Or to quote the legendary words of Theo, our creative marketing assistant: ‘I wouldn’t even know how it was before.’ (before Gucci came into his life, so to speak). Anyway: Gucci is on, and all thanks to the appointment of Alessandro Michele as creative director – formerly an accessory designer at the label. A brilliant move, because the somewhat sleepy fashion house has since guaranteed an addictive cool, original, and eclectic Renaissance mix of vibrant colors, maddening bold prints, romantic bows, wonderful applications, historical details, and clever references to art, literature, and poetry. That’s what I’m saying: what a luxury, what a splendor, doesn’t everyone want that? Moreover, the new direction of Gucci has an even deeper layer, a solid underlying message: shining with (your) imagination, frame of reference, and knowledge is soooo the new luxury. That’s what I’m saying: you must have it.
P.S. I want to say that I don’t just want the belt, I also want the GG Marmont Mattelassé Shoulder Bag and the loafers with heels.
Now I just need to save up a bit. I think the items will all be in my possession around the turn of the year, but if you’d like to see me walking around with them in the near future, you can also gift them. In that case, send them to the editorial office (Pilotenstraat 23, 1059 CH, Amsterdam), but we can also meet at the Gucci store on the PC, no problem.
