8 Things You Didn't Know About Jet
This week, Jet is living the life of a superstar. It starts a bit with Koffietijd, races over to the editing set where she edits videos of her book launch, then drives to Hilversum for some radio interviews and finally flops down on the couch with her love to watch what Albert Verlinde has to say about her book.
For Amayzine, Jet is booked off for these two weeks so she has all the time for the publicity spectacle. Because a day without Jet is really a day without Jet, I make sure you get your daily dose of happy and healthy. A nice moment to whisper a few things to you that you probably didn't know about Jet. That she is sweet, pretty, and funny is known, but this….
1. Jet has magical powers
She masters disappearing techniques that Hans Klok can only dream of. Give her a pair of Chanel earrings and poof, they're gone. Or a designer sunglasses. That ends up in a mess at her best friend Elisabeth's place, where it is barely saved from a sad demise. Or the credit card of our company. Also suddenly disappeared. And you know what's funny? We forgive her everything. But let it not happen again!
2. Jet also has her secret pleasures
Put a Sambuca in front of her and she downs it. In fact, she is the first to refill. Madeleines (especially those from Le Fournil) are also hard for her to resist. Or the pizzas from Le Garage and a steak tartare brewed at the table. Just like a cup of fresh ginger tea and a smoothie from The Cold Pressed Juicery, by the way, but you knew that.
3. Jet is quite a messy person.
Yes, everything is clean and in jars and such, there’s nothing to complain about. But then. Then it goes a bit wrong. Because those jars don’t go in cabinets. At least not in the office. Jet naturally receives loads of healthy food items and they don’t all look very Instagrammable. And Jet finds it a shame to throw them away, resulting in me facing freezer bags, picnic baskets, Dopper bottles in all sorts, and glowing sports vests. The wet towels she always hung over the stair railing (after exercising, she always showered at the office) I luckily managed to sneak out.

”4. And sometimes a bit clumsy”
If Jet has green kamut (a horrible substance that apparently makes you enchanting beautiful, slim, and radiant) in her Marc Jacobs bag, you can bet your bottom dollar that the jar will fall over and everything, everything, everything, from Givenchy wallet to Chanel makeup bag, is covered in green goo. Or she prepares her love's sports bag and puts a note and a smoothie in it. But forgets to screw the cap on tightly, resulting in… Well.
5. Jet is the slicing champion.
Pumpkins with those hard shells? No problem for Jet. Just like avocados, carrots, and radishes. Like a Japanese star chef, she goes to town with that knife. Rattatatataa goes the knife. Huppakee.
6. Jet is the DJ.
If we have a lull at the office, Jet plays DJ. From Ilse DeLange to Marco Borsato with the editorial favorite 'Pak van mijn hart' by Nick and Simon. And yes, we sometimes dance to it too.
7. She is the nail polish champion.
If I have a party and am in a hurry and stressed about my outfit, Jet offers to paint my nails. And yes, she also does my toenails. Even after a long workday. If that’s not sisterly love.
8. She is a bar supplier.
Jet is our happy-and-healthy barometer. Before I take a bite of anything, I run it by Jet and wait for her approving look. Kiki, for example, is completely off the Opkikkers because Jet just can't approve that and I almost dare not order diet cola anymore. What she also does, especially when I’m busy, is supply healthy bars. She then puts them in my bag so that I always have something on hand in case I don’t have time for lunch.
