And for tomorrow, healthy again
6X HOW YOU CAN SLEEP WELL
SLEEP WELL
I must say that due to my dry January (although it’s only been a dry week), I sleep a bit less well. Normally, a glass of wine takes the edge off the day and I switch from five to two. But according to wise scientists, skipping alcohol is one of the six rules for sleeping well, deeply, and long. Here we go.
1. Shower
Sounds divine to me. With a warm shower, you relax and it’s just a small step to your soft, warm bed.
2. Meditate
Your loved one might chuckle softly, but you don’t care. Just sit on your side of the bed in a cross-legged position, let your thoughts drift about the day, gently blow away annoying things, and then think about that long sleep period you’re about to experience.
3. Write it down
Keep a notepad next to your bed where you write down things that are bothering you. Or things you still need to do. They can suddenly seem incredibly important in the middle of the night (and they might not be). Write it literally off your mind and bet that you’ll fall asleep easier?
4. Drink water
Yes, yes, yes, now I know.
5. Do exercises
Not too heart rate-raising exercises, I think, but some nice yoga exercises seem to work great. I’ll check in with Jet at the happy and healthy desk for some good exercises. They will follow.
6. Snack well
Still hungry before you go to sleep? You can eat something, but do pay attention to what you eat. It seems that a kiwi helps a person sleep incredibly well.
