In principal, it’s not all that difficult to take unhealthy things and make healthier versions of them. But some cakes and cookies should stay as they are. Think cheesecake, lemon cakes and eton mess. These require the sugars, flowers and butter. Leaving them out would ruin the recipe. But take brownies for example, they’re easy to make without using any of the above mentioned products. Okay okay the sticky super sweet version is obviously the best, but the great thing about this recipe is that you’ll be full after one slice. And it’s because of the black beans. Yes, you read that right. Black beans. Happy cooking!


What you need:

400 grams of black beans

3 ripe bananas

2 eggs

4 tablespoons of cocoa powder

3 tablespoons of honey

2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil (butter works too)

2 teaspoons of baking powder

Pinch of salt


How to make it:

Preheat your oven to 18 degrees. Make sure you let all of the water leak out of the beans in a sieve. Then mix all the ingredients in a blender until it becomes batter. Pour the batter into a baking in and let it bake in the over for 30 minutes. Let it cool down and then cut it into brownie pieces.
