BRUNCHING WITH BVLGARI

One of the nicest benefits of working in ‘this world’? The invitations. Every now and then, an email pops up inviting you to check out a new collection while enjoying a bite and a drink. I tell you: life could be worse. Especially when Bvlgari invites you to a press brunch and it all takes place in the always shining Conservatorium Hotel.

May was in France with her love, so I went solo to Bvlgari, under the pretense of grabbing a breakfast (a person has to eat) and when there are bags, watches, and other jewelry around, I get short-circuited and an unbearable urge to possess. The feeling is stronger than I am. I didn't really know the Bvlgari accessory collection that well. I only know that I weekly gawk at the bags with snake heads, perfumes, and scented candles that are maddeningly delicious on Instagram. Josselin guards the vase-like bottle of Le Gemmes with her life and May has a huge gold ring from Bvlgari that everyone is obsessed with.

To give the present press the Bvlgari ring experience, we received a Candy Ring with gold leaf during the brunch (four courses, I was not allowed to eat anymore the rest of the day - I repeat, not -). Pretty awesome and actually a shame to eat. Andrea Pogany from Bvlgari spoke about the history of the brand (did you know that the family business was founded in 1884 by the Greek goldsmith Sotirios Voulgaris, who emigrated to Rome after a major fire in his hometown and Italianized his name?) and showed us the new must-haves for the upcoming season. Since then, I know where my next salary is going and that I am ruined for good.
