BURBERRY: THE SHOW WHERE EVERY-ONE WAS, AND WE TOO
The Burberry show was all incredibly secret. And when something is secret, we of course do our utmost to find out. Now that was a bit tricky until Burberry itself posted on Instagram where it was, we spotted a lot of trench coats on the street and therefore knew where it was all heading. And so we stood two hours later at Burberry's doorstep.
We were a tad too early, we know that the most important people arrive just a minute before the show, but a lot happens two hours before. Think of street style inspiration and think of hordes of people trying to casually get tickets from the well-instructed PR girls. Actually, everyone was well-instructed because you had to stay at a considerable distance and were not allowed to step anywhere near the show field.
Still did it. Just like two hundred and twenty-three other people who were curious about everything. While Lil all the showpieces was still photographing, I sneaked behind the security to take a place behind a barrier. The taxis drove up and the guests rolled out. In the most beautiful Burberry looks ever. And occasionally a familiar face passed by. If I missed it for a moment (because there was so much to see), I was called out by my fellow barrier colleagues who screamed with enthusiasm. Kris Wu for example, an Asian pop idol I had never heard of (to the disbelief of my barrier colleagues), but whose entire biography I have now memorized. How could I miss that, I wonder now.
We were at Burberry.
And then someone tugged at my sleeve. Lil. Had also sneaked forward and took a spot in front of the entrance. While texting, we kept each other updated and god, how happy we were. We were just there. Well, sort of. But we felt intensely connected with Alexa, Poppy and Cara.
We saw every-one pass by. And we even saw and heard the show. Because there was live music from twenty violinists and five singers, which we could enjoy clearly outside. And from the show too. Although on our toes, I really spotted the looks of the models from two stories up. And with a sideways glance, we watched the livestream with the barrier colleagues, which allowed us to see the location from the inside and totally discuss the show afterwards.
My goodness guys, this was quite a hysteria all together. We happily participated. Because we were just there. We were at Burberry. And I am so trembling with excitement that we will probably be invited front row next year. So Alexa, Cara and Poppy, will you make room? Next year I will be sitting comfortably between you.
