Yes, another fresh weekly diary from our Carolien. Because you know: she never sits still.

Monday finally arrived: “Sneekweek” premiered in Tuschinski hall 1! In the afternoon, the cast gathered for hair and makeup. Everyone looked so beautiful: Holly in Jan Boelo, Sanne in Claes Iversen, Yootha in Escada, Kimberley in Mart Visser, and I wore a custom-made creation by Ghimells. On the red carpet, it was (yes indeed!) minus 4 degrees, so I was quite happy with my long sleeves. We had already seen the film, but seeing it on the big screen was still exciting. Afterwards, the reactions were overwhelming! And to celebrate this great success, we danced the night away at Bar Exit until the early hours…

The next day, it was quite a challenge to get out of bed, I can tell you… Especially with the thought that we were going to celebrate another premiere that evening, but this time in Sneek! We were picked up in a real limousine to travel to the north like true rock stars. Once we arrived in the city center, the car could hardly get to the cinema: hundreds of people were waiting for us, cheering! And once again, we ended the evening with a dance in the club where we were also filmed, before driving back to Amsterdam in the limo, tired but satisfied. Yes guys, the life of a rock star for one day is quite tough, I can tell you :-).

Now that one project is behind us, the next show is already ready to start! And I am really looking forward to this show. It is a musical performance about the life and struggles of pop icon Britney Spears. I used to always copy all the dances, sang along loudly with “Hit me baby one more time” and was in shock when she shaved her head. During the performance, the fantastic Maask plays live music, of course with samples of Britney's songs. We will be at the Sugarfactory on January 23, so if you grew up with Britney like we did: come one, come all!

In between, Amsterdam Fashion Week also took place. The whole city was once again focused on the Netherlands' best designers. Together with the ladies from the cast of Sneekweek, we marveled at Claes Iversen's prêt-à-porter collection: what a beautiful collection! I quickly took photos of the items I would like to borrow… Unfortunately, it always takes so long before that collection is available, and I feel like that time in between is getting longer. In a few years, you'll look back in 2016 at what you would want to wear in 2018!

Meanwhile, my entire circle of friends has already eaten there once, because I seize every opportunity to dine at my favorite restaurant: Choux. The owners first had a few pop-up restaurants, but this is their first official establishment. And I can tell you, it's damn good. The waiting list is now over a week, and once you've been there, you understand why: the food is fantastic and the service is always friendly. The menu changes every month, so I have to come back monthly… Luckily, Jon is just as much a fan as I am, so we have become masters at coming up with a monthly occasion.
