Carolien’s Fast Lane Life
Yes, another fresh weekday diary from our Carolien. Because you know: she never sits still…
It's Clean Faces Week! For me, having a clean face is the order of the day all year round, but apparently not for everyone... It seems that one in three Dutch women does not clean her face. Marly and I have learned from our mothers from a young age that it is super important to properly cleanse your face, whether you wear makeup or not. That's why we like to create awareness for this campaign, so hopefully all women will start cleansing their faces properly from now on. Just like us, share your Clean Face with the world this week!
A few times a year, Marly and I let ourselves go during the now infamous PINC Sale. And now that they have a new location in the heart of Amsterdam and I can be at the door in no time on my bike, the temptation is even greater to take a look at each edition. Next week, the brand new location will be festively opened with a huge winter collection sale. Sorry guys: we got to pre-shop and scored beautiful items from Ted Baker, Aaiko, and Iheart. But believe me, there's still more than enough! Definitely worth a visit, even if it's just to admire the beautiful building. Good excuse, right? PINC Sale is from September 2 to 6, Ruysdaelstraat 58, Amsterdam.
I have now reached an age where you as friends enter a new phase of life ‘en groupe’. Not a month goes by without friends getting married, buying a house, or starting a family. In a month, the first baby will be born within our old friend group, how special! Of course, that comes with a baby shower, and I happen to be blessed with a bunch of really good ‘cooks’ in that group. The table looked like ELLE Eten could walk in at any moment for a shoot, and I wanted to take that cake home to keep it forever under a dome. Uh, dear friends: in a few years, could I please have such a lovely food table for my baby bump?
I really have a thing for design stores: you can never have enough tableware, notebooks, or decorations, although Jon thinks differently about that... He tries with all his might to keep our home as clean as possible in terms of decor, which he manages quite well. But luckily, he can also be very happy with a new rug for the couch or a wonderfully scented bath oil from a new Scandinavian brand. So when I walked into Meester Design Store, I allowed myself to buy that one marble shelf for the kitchen and a lovely soap for the bathroom... Tip: if you still need to furnish and decorate your entire home, this store can easily (re)style your whole place: from floors to furniture and new decor.
There I am: in a black nothingness from Victoria’s Secret, waiting for my dream dress for a final fitting... Now that date is getting closer, it's really starting to sink in that I'm actually getting married! In principle, everything is in order, so I can step onto the plane with a peaceful heart. Although I do get nervous at the thought of having to haul my wedding dress on a conveyor belt, through customs, on the plane, and in a car to the final destination. And then also without any mishaps! Luckily, Bloomfeld has countless brides who have to do this, so let them handle the packing later. The final details are still being adjusted, and then this bride is just ready to say ‘I do’!
