On Monday, the recordings finally started for the new series Brussels. I couldn't wait to begin: a new role, new colleagues, and a beautiful city that was new to me. Until that city was shaken yesterday by terrible terror. We were in the heart of Brussels in a café when the news slowly sank in. Within minutes, messages flooded in asking if we were safe. The bizarre thing is that when you're in the middle of it, you receive much less than from the outside. There were still many cars driving in the city, many people were still walking through the shopping streets, and in our neighborhood, we saw no military personnel at all. After the recordings, I lit a candle for all the victims and their families. We will not be intimidated and will just continue creating something beautiful!
In the meantime, I have tried on the most beautiful wedding dresses at my dream boutique Bloomfeld: every dress hanging there is so beautiful that you would want to place it in a display case! What I find so nice is that they represent exclusive brands for the entire Benelux, so the chance is small that you will often come across those creations. Now I received an email that they are having a trunk show of one of their most beautiful brands: Galia Lahav on the weekend of April 1st. Spring is in the air! We have such a wonderfully responsible Ambilight alarm clock that wakes you up with sunlight and chirping birds. But for a week now, I've been hearing those birds outside for real, what a celebration! All dark outfits and nail polishes are being exchanged for pastel shades, and cautiously I dare to start looking at the new spring/summer collections. One of the hardest things for me is always finding a nice bag in a light color. I have been in love with the bags (and the price) from Paul's Boutique for two seasons now, and when I saw this one come by, I immediately clicked ‘order’. The size is perfect and the beige color combined with black is the perfect transition from winter to spring. Now just looking for the perfect summer variant.
When I received this invite for an exclusive makeup session from Charlotte Tilbury, I immediately thought: I'm going to look for my wedding look! At the Bijenkorf, I was welcomed in a beautiful room filled with lovely Diptyque candles and the new cosmetics line from the makeup artist of all Hollywood. I could choose from one of the signature looks, and the ‘Golden Goddess’ seemed perfect for an Italian bride! It was a real tutorial: while the makeup artist worked on me, I could watch every step in the mirror and then try the other half myself. I was super happy with the end result! Luckily, I still have four months to practice this look at home…
Whenever I go out with my mother, she is the one who receives all the compliments. Fully deserved too, because she could be my older sister despite the thirty-year age difference. Her skin is still so beautiful, and luckily I have (for now) inherited those genes from her. When I suddenly got a huge rash on my face last week, I was shocked: what is this all of a sudden? Fortunately, it has completely gone away now, but a little extra care can't hurt. So I booked a lovely facial treatment at Babassu to give my skin a boost. It was honestly the best facial treatment ever. And the products from Natura Bissé felt so nice that I immediately purchased them as a new skincare ritual. Now let's hope that rash doesn't come back…
