CAROLIEN’S WEDDING DIARY
Nine more weeks...
With my heart in my throat and sweating armpits, I sat across from our wedding planner, florist, and caterer last week. The big moment had arrived: one last meeting with all parties to go through the script completely, and then I can take my hands off it... If only it were that easy! For months, I've been getting up and going to bed with a hundred to-do lists in my head, and suddenly almost all those lists are checked off. I think I'm going to be one of those brides who falls into a black hole after the wedding. But let's not get ahead of ourselves; first, let's wait and see if both parties will say ‘yes’ at the moment supreme...
All that remains for me is to dot the ‘i's and especially enjoy all the anticipation. So last week, my final fitting at Bloomfeld was on the agenda (thank God, still my dream dress), the cutting of my hair (thankfully also turned out very well, just imagine if I had to buy extensions the next day...) and designing the menus and shirts for the caterers. But during my inspiration hour on Pinterest, I discovered Bulbby.com, a cool site that not only prints shirts with your logo but also many other products! Just my luck: after almost a year of working on everything, I discover such a site at the very last minute.
Fortunately, Jon was not around, so I immediately grabbed the phone to check if they could still design and deliver on time. I received a dangerously enthusiastic response, giving me carte blanche to order whatever I wanted. My eye immediately fell on the napkins: how cool would it be if we had a napkin for each guest with his/her name on it, plus our wedding logo?! But that wasn't all: my imagination ran wild at the sight of the personalized water bottles (in all the rooms), lanterns (for the wish moment after the ceremony), and jute bags (for by the pool). Great, Carolien, so much fun with your online shopping. In the spirit of ‘you only get married once,’ the order was placed before I could backtrack. We would love to invite all friends and Amayzine readers to join us for a simple dinner afterward... Or a sandwich with peanut butter, also delicious.
