Carolien's fast lane life
Yes, another fresh weekday diary from our Carolien. Because you know: she never sits still…
Last week I was still in the studio for the final recording session and in a few weeks it will be here: the second season of Zwarte Tulp will be available on Videoland from May 2. I can't wait to watch it myself, because I didn't get to see anything about the other storylines on set. So it's just as much a surprise for me as it is for you! Ideally, I would lock myself up for a whole day to binge-watch the entire series... Now Videoland has organized such a day especially for the diehard fans, so you can be the very first to watch the whole series back-to-back. I will do my best to be there on the 2nd!
Sunday night I could hardly sleep from the nerves: the weather app indicated 19 degrees and lots of sun for Monday. In the morning I jumped out of bed to inaugurate the first skirt day, until I was on my bike... It was still freezing cold! I always look a bit strangely at people who wear shorts at the first rays of sunshine, but I was no better myself. Quickly switched outfits at home to this slightly warmer spring-like Storm & Marie and Modström outfit, and luckily the sun came out nicely in the afternoon! It's bizarre what a little warmth and sunshine can do: everyone seems happier, has more patience in traffic, and I even received a friendly greeting from another cyclist. Let's please hope that there is an upward trend in that temperature and that every day becomes skirt day!
Ten years ago I found the suitcase of my life at a market in Bangkok: completely in leopard print. I was so in love with that suitcase, even though I was only going away for a few days, and instead of a trolley, I took my big leopard friend with me to show it off. Unfortunately, this friend passed away a year ago and since then I haven't been able to find a worthy replacement. Until I discovered this lovely suitcase brand SUITSUIT through a friend. Their collection of suitcases consists of the most fantastic designs in various sizes. And they make covers in other cool prints that protect your suitcase during your trip, allowing you to pimp them double. I immediately fell in love with this lovely floral print, so now I finally have a suitcase to parade with at the airport! And that comes in handy, because in two weeks I get to hit the road again for a very special photoshoot... To be continued!
Amsterdam has a new museum. In the middle of the Museumplein, the beautiful building MOCO is located: Modern Contemporary Museum. Abroad, I have always loved all contemporary art museums and now I can just hop on my bike! Not the least of artists are featured: Banksy and Warhol are the first exhibitions with which the museum opens its doors. And I can tell you: they are absolutely worth it. The building has many exciting, small rooms where the canvases are exhibited. The next exhibition is already one to look forward to: my favorite surrealist ‘master’ Dali is coming up next. Maybe I should finally get a Museum Year Card!
Nothing is as calming as spending an afternoon with my godchild. Although she is now starting to run faster and already knows how to cause mischief, I love spending a whole afternoon with her without looking at my phone even once. Last week we went to the petting zoo in pouring rain with Marly... But Sammy-Rose didn't care at all: she ran from the chicken coop to the rabbits to the newborn chicks and back again. Only to then flop down at home, exhausted, on the couch with a bowl of grapes: lovely, such a day!
