CHILLING IN THE ANTILLES
Hotspots part two
Hey there, good morning dushi’s. As promised today the second half of the amazing hotspots in Curaçao. Because as you understand: in 17 days of roaming around the island, you come across quite a few nice spots. Where can you spot the most beautiful sunset? Catch the coolest full moon party? Have an incredibly delicious and Instagram-worthy lunch? Rapapapa, I'll tell you.
Cabana Beach
Aside from the fact that you can eat delicious à la carte here, I really recommend going on Friday or Sunday. On Fridays they organize the Fish Market where you can put together your main dish while standing in front of a super huge fish stall (those fish are ridiculously HUGE, it's not normal). Oh, and the freshly sliced sashimi that is cut right in front of you is also an absolute must. As in: I had tuna here for the first time in my life that was caught that same morning, holy moly, it melts in your mouth (!). Every Sunday they have the same concept, only in the form of a Steak Market. Real food porn for the carnivores among us.

Karakter & Koraal
Are you not staying long in Curaçao? Then you definitely won't go home without visiting Coral Estate. This area is known for their amazing beach tent Karakter (lovely sunbeds and the best menu on the island), but also for their newest hotspot Koraal Rooftop Terrace. Real quality cocktails? You’ll find them here. It’s a shame if you only arrive at 7 PM, because then you’ll miss the sunset, and trust me, you don’t want that. My tip? Go around 5 PM, lean back and enjoy the view. Stay after that cocktail especially for dinner, because Koraal just got a new menu and if you love fine dining, you’ll be on the verge of convulsions from this place of perfection. So delicious, high-end, so refined: one by one, the chef presents little works of art on your plate. Really nice to give your Instagram account a good boost, I can tell you.
Address: Coral Estate/Rif St Marie – Sint Willibrordus.

Spa 8 The Experience
Do you not want to leave Coral Estate at all? I get it. Then just stay cozy at the Coral Estate Sea View Studios (great view guaranteed). Then dive right into 8 The Experience in the morning, the best spa on the island. Sander and I booked a duo massage with a sea view and I think I woke up drooling halfway through. Totally cool for your vacation photos: they have jacuzzis outside at Spa 8 on the edge of the cliff. Okay, have you figured out that I’m a fan? I’m almost disappointed if you don’t head that way. But really.

De Buurvrouw
Just for the atmosphere, it’s a nice place to plop down after a long day at the beach, especially if you’ve been to Westpunt on the island. You dine at De Buurvrouw under a gigantic palapa (one of those thatched umbrellas you see a lot on the beach, only a hundred times bigger) and it’s so cozy. For the real experience, you must order the Pincho, a life-sized skewer with the craziest pieces of meat you can find. Oh, and for dessert (do share with two, because man, those portions are huge) you just have to order the brownie with white chocolate mousse, otherwise you can’t go home. Got it?

Kokomo Beach
Okay okay, maybe I’m a bit biased, because my sister worked at this beach tent in Curaçao for four months. But I can tell you: my sister has got swag. I actually want to eat at a different place every afternoon and evening on vacation so I can experience as much as possible at a vacation spot, but I’ve seriously been here three times. And three times I had the Galina Stoba (a local chicken stew), where you especially need to order a big pile of fries to scoop out the whole pot. Sizzling fajitas, a Spanish shrimp dish, pots that keep simmering nicely at the table; I love it. Kokomo also has a mega chill beach, where you can dive and snorkel quite well, if that’s your thing. Want to go completely wild at night? Once a month they organize the biggest full moon party in the Caribbean. You can expect about 3000 people to show up. You can imagine: that’s crazy.
