FASHION IN THE MUSEUM

Anyone who always feels a bit awkward when the conversation turns to museums and visiting them has nothing to fear for the time being. Because the Rijksmuseum has an incredibly extensive fashion collection on display from February 20 to May 15, ha!

Look, it's understandable if you have less appreciation for abstract art or endless amounts of old masterpieces. But fashion, that's something we all like here, right? Until May 15, there are six rooms set up in the Rijksmuseum, in the Philips wing, featuring

Dutch fashion from 1625 to 1960. The exhibition is designed by Erwin Olaf and you already know: this can only be beautiful.

The Rijks promises “to start with the clothes of the Frisian Oranges from the Golden Age, through dresses made of colorful French silk and sparkling velvet men's suits from the 18th century, to the classic Empire and queues from the Fin de siècle up to the 20th-century haute couture of Dior and Yves Saint Laurent.” Water in mouth, anyone? I thought so. So, see you there?
