WHERE YOU NEED TO GO TO THIS SUMMER? FORMENTERA, GUYS. FORMENTERA.

Last year I spent two weeks on Formentera and ever since, I've made sure to bring up the place at least once a week. About the seventies, vibe, the light (it's ALWAYS magic hour there), the tropical beaches, the weather, the sun, the cocktails, the sunset, the smell of pine berries, the fantastic beach clubs, okay, okay, I'll stop.

I've contemplated whether or not I should share this secret of mine. But I'm going to do it because I've become some sort of friend of your right? PLEASE TELL ME YOU THINK OF ME AS A FRIEND. But okay, back to Formentera. It's far more serene than its popular sister Ibiza, but definitely not less cool and nice. Best time to go? Preferably in June, beginning of July or the end of August, beginning of September. It won't be too hot and you'll miss the crowds. Even though Formentera is a tranquil island, the crowds are everywhere during the high seasons.

Alright. So I'm assuming you want to go to Formentera? Or would you rather go to Capri because our May-Britt has been a Capri advocate? Whichever it is, here are a couple of final promo words. You can ride your bike there. And Bob Dylan once stayed in one of the lighthouses to write songs. Oh, and all the houses are a crispy shade of white, the cacti are humongous and the styling is perfect everywhere. The only annoying thing on Formentera are the scooters that always seem to appear out of nowhere. And when it's windy, then it really is windy. Making the beach a no go. But then there are always little towns and markets to go to. And there's always wine.

”And there's always wine”

In the mood to go to Formentera? Here are a couple of hotels for you to stay at. Don't freak out when you see the prices, especially during high season, Formentera is really expensive. If you want to travel on a budget you can always rent a humble abode through Airbnb or so. Something else you should do is avoid the little town Es Pujols. Not chic and filled with tourists.

1. Hotel Es Marès

A pretty, white and stylish hotel. It's not located on the beach, but in one of the most fun, prettiest and dream worthy shop- and dine towns on the island. If you're not in the mood to keep an eye out for your food and beverage intake, this place will be a hit. The town is filled with great restaurants which means you can easily crawl back into your bed after a night out.

2. Hotel Cala Saona

A nice hotel in a more remote part of the island by a beautiful bay (with a great restaurant). Set one foot outside of the hotel and voilà, you're on the beach. The hotel also has a wonderful spa, a swimming pool and a great restaurant of its own.

3. Can Aisha

A very charming (little) hotel, although its best described as five suite apartments. There's a cute little restaurant and a pool. An absolute summer vibe, intimate, chic, gotta love it.

4. Gecko Beach Club

A stylish, very white, luxury hotel. And very popular. Great location, great food, spectacular beach, wonderful pool, top notch service and very (very) Instagrammable.
