LIFE IS A BEAUTIFUL RIDE

And yes, we drag the entire editorial team along with us

Even though I take the train to work, my day starts with several bike rides. First a ride from home to the station and then another little piece from the station to work. I really enjoy that the most. I may not live in the city, but I still feel like I blend in when I zoom through Vondelpark on my bike. No one sees that I don't belong to the true Amsterdammers.

Where other colleagues roll out of the train and walk a last bit or arrive honking in a car, Jet and I have already covered some kilometers and I can therefore consider myself part of the ‘fitgirl’ genre. Now the problem is that I have a bike in Amsterdam that quite represents the undone feeling of the city. Once spray-painted gold, now totally worn out and rusty. Once decorated with nice things, now a horrible thing that looks more like a circus attraction than my trusty bike that takes me everywhere.

Change is coming. The circus attraction will soon be gone AND I'm not just going to ride a new one, Jet and I are going to get the rest of the editorial team cycling too. Soon we will welcome two brand new bikes from VANMOOF here. Now those things are already incredibly hipster-proof, but we also got to upgrade them to the highest level of coolness. You can give the standard models a personal extra touch. For example, you can give your fenders a nice color and you understand that Jet chose gold ones (‘because that goes well with my sneakers’) and I chose black (‘because Insta-worthy’).

There's even more fun. You can buy add-ons that allow you to personalize your bike even more. A basket is quite handy for Jet (who always loses her stuff and keys and can nicely collect them there). And I find the feature of the basket personally very handy to store some drawing supplies. Then I am really an artist on the roll. Sounds pretty cool. We're even going to get May cycling, because there's also a basket where you can store extra pumps. So there's no reason not to hop on the bike. Our editorial team is going to be so incredibly happy and healthy.

By the way, I think this will become an addiction that unfortunately doesn't only belong to Amsterdam. Soon you'll definitely see me in my little hometown Bussum on the cool Urban Bike. I may not live in Amsterdam, but I just bring the city feeling to the village. I guess this will be a long-lasting virus.
