How to brighten up a boring wall with tape

A piece of art on the wall for a pittance

In recent years, I have collected so incredibly many tapes that I now really have an enormous stock. Where I used to be a huge miser with sticking, my enthusiasm is now overwhelming and I stick everything under. The collection is so large and those tapes really cost nothing anymore that you can consume meters without feeling guilty about excess. So from small gifts you go to wallpaper and from leftover pieces you make artworks. From now on, you simply create the Stedelijk Museum at home.

Over time, you must have collected a lot of cool invitations, shoots from magazines, fun stickers and posters and who knows what else, but often that ends up in a corner or bag and you actually have nothing to do with it. The solution is incredibly simple: invest in a few rolls of washi tape. That is paper tape with which you can pimp any gift or give all that fun a nice place.

You can hang things with it or frame them, making it a fantastic piece of art . Or, if you don't have anything fun at home, you create something original from the tape itself. You really don't have to spend hours on it because it sticks so easily, and you don't have to be afraid that the plaster will fall off when you remove it. So here it is: get inspired, grab the rolls and transform that boring wall into a piece of art. Enjoy!

Graphic designs

You can create entire skylines without having to paint them on your wall with a brush, or you can make the most beautiful houses and creatures in cool graphic style. I wouldn't recommend going for very round examples, as that is tricky to stick. Graphically is therefore both easier and just very cool nowadays.

Allover wallpaper

In case you don't want to wallpaper your entire wall but still want to spice things up with a nice print; tape is all you need. You can think of the coolest prints. It is handy to keep a level handy. Or, if you're not very handy with these kinds of items, opt for the casual approach. Just as fun.

Frame it!

Then I come back to all those fun items you have saved. You can hang them on the wall with a simple piece of tape, but you can also create beautiful frames from them. Just be a little original with the way you stick the tape on the wall.
