Ibiza tip

I’ve been going to Ibiza for years and I can hardly recollect days that I didn’t eat a good meal. Even when it’s served on plastic, you’ll find something fun like grilled anchovy. world's best salt.

The only thing I occasionally miss is a good Asian restaurant. I once spent six months in Rome during which the hardest question of the day was always: at which divine Italian restaurant would I eat at tonight? Yet we would still manage to find ourselves at Chinese restaurant around the corner a couple times a week. Just because people always have that urge for Chinese food.

Now you might be thinking that Ibiza has had Bambuddha Grove for years. That’s right. It’s great, the food is good, but once I saw that the staff walked around with headsets, I gave up. Too colossal for my taste.

Since about a year now Santa Gertrudis (definitely one of the coziest towns on the island) has a new restaurant. With an Asian kitchen. You eat outdoors on a gorgeously set up terrace. Lamps in the trees, an outside bar, two big statues of lions and you’re capable of watching everything that’s going on at the central square while sipping on your Mojito.

The idea is to order a lot and share all of it. And oh, there’s a cute little clothing store across from the restaurant which is run by two Dutch women who make a lot of their own clothes. Mikado is the name. Now you know where you need to be!
