Fun & Famous
IT MUST NOT GET CRAZIER
There is a show, there are models, clothes (which you can't really call clothes but ‘items’), there is a location and there are guests. Now every brand wants to show its unique DNA more and more during a show. That's why you see general locations disappearing more and more, because every brand wants a unique place (which they then call a ‘venue’) to show how special and unique they are.
That's why a small label (that's fashion language for clothing brand) chooses its own models. If you want to count as a brand, you book at least one model as ‘exclusive’. You show that you have money to buy her out from all the other brands, so you are rich, successful, and powerful, and that's what you want to be as a big fashion house. This Dutch model has been booked multiple times as exclusive by Louis Vuitton.
Such a model spins happily, because she is flown in extremely comfortably in business class, doesn't have to do a casting (because haha, she is already nicely booked), walks a show, and can fill the rest of Fashion Week with counting her money. And her ribs. Just kidding, bad joke. Bad.
It is also common for an A-brand to invite some A-listers to their show, and of course, such a brand really wants that A-lister to be present only at their show. Keira Knightley and Florence Welch may be at Chanel, but not at Dior. That would be really strange.
And that, dear people, is really strange.
But now, now something very weird is going on. Kristina Bazan, really a very big vlogger and Instagram hit, posted on her Instagram that she would make an ‘exclusive appearance’ as a guest at the Dolce & Gabbana show. And that, dear people, is really strange. Because as a blogger-type, it is your job to attend as many fashion events as possible and keep your followers updated on everything you have seen.
But she has been bought out by Dolce & Gabbana to sit only at their show and let Gucci, Max Mara, Prada, Marni, and all the other beautiful things Milan has to offer pass her by. Isn't that bizarre? Soon Anna Wintour will be exclusively booked by a brand. That can't be right? Where is the world heading?
There is a silver lining to this wacko fashion news. If you only have one ticket for a show, you just say that you are exclusively booked by that one brand. Never again face loss, how nice!
