breakfast in bed
You do me a great favor by having an elaborate breakfast. Whether it's at home, out (that's the most festive) or in bed. And I would like to talk about the last one today. What can you serve and how do you serve a good breakfast between the sheets? Get inspired here or slide these tips under your boy's nose. Happy Saturday!
What do you serve?
Don't make it too complicated for yourself, so don't prepare overloaded sandwiches and glasses filled to the brim with juice. That will only lead to spills. You're just awake, you're still half lying down instead of sitting, so I don't think you feel like a heavy English breakfast. At least, I don't.
– A boiled egg is great. An extra bit of service is to peel the egg in the kitchen beforehand.
– Make a large fruit salad plus chopped mint (makes it a bit extra special) and serve it with two forks. Romantic to poke together.
– Cut a grapefruit in half and loosen the segments a bit with a knife. Then you just have to scoop it out with a spoon.
– Another thing you can cut in half is an avocado. Each gets a half with a bit of olive oil, lemon juice, and salt and pepper.
– Toast is chic. Especially if you cut it into triangles, like in a real hotel.
– Make pancakes. They are very easy to eat and also super festive.
– Whip up a super duper delicious thick smoothie. Also easy to drink.
And how do you serve it?
On a tray of course. Or on a small table next to the bed. By the way, be careful with hot tea and coffee. That's actually always a bit awkward, so you can skip that too. (Although, my beloved gets a coffee with milk in bed every morning (YES, EVERY MORNING) and that has never gone wrong. But that's beside the point.) Guys, are you reading along? Don't work with flowers, candles, and teddy bears (I find the last one quite terrible and all that other stuff just goes wrong). The same goes for juice from a carton. Brrr. Preferably just fresh from the press.
Spread a tablecloth over the duvet. Really, you will be grateful to me, because you spill, crumb: everything. Better to have a nice little cloth as a savior.
