Happy & Healthy

Yes, weekend! Do you have dinners, birthdays, and parties planned? Very good, think about anything but work for a while, and surround yourself with friends. Some people get a bit panicked about it. I mean: they panic because they are on such a healthy track (good job!) and then think that those kinds of weekend things don't fit into that track. But have you gone completely crazy? Of course, they fit in too! They absolutely must be included. Why shouldn't you be able to go out to eat? Why shouldn't you be allowed to have a drink? Look, as long as you do it all in moderation, it's fine. I'll give you even more tips on how to go to that dinner with a calm heart. Well, in the end, you have it all in your own hands.

  • Take exactly what you feel like, but eat sllloooowly.
  • Take it a bit easy with all those appetizers before the meal. Otherwise, you'll be almost full by the time the starter comes.
  • Remember: bread baskets are not necessarily an addition to your meal. That's what I think anyway.
  • Opt for two starters instead of a starter and a main course. This way, you have smaller portions.
  • Ask if you can have extra vegetables served.
  • Drink plenty of water in between.
  • I often ask if the sauce or dressing can be served separately. That way, I can always dose it myself a bit.
  • Share the desserts, there’s bound to be someone who wants to do that with you.
  • Don't overdo it. You know it: five glasses of wine less and it would have been just as fun an evening. But hey, who am I?
