Happy & Healthy
My mission at the Amayzine editorial team is almost accomplished, namely getting everyone to exercise and introducing them to the “healthy” kitchen. And it doesn't have to be boring at all, but you all know that by now.
It even goes so far that I can expect a text message every Saturday morning by May and sales director Danielle that proves with a photo (with sweat!) that they have attended another gym class. And Liesbeth also sends me a nice photo when she is making a green smoothie. And Josselin always calls just before she goes for a run on the heath. Because oh dear if there is no exercise, then there will be consequences. No, that's not true, but I do find it funny that I am kind of a stick behind the door for them. Up to a certain point, of course, because I can just as easily drink wine and stay in bed stinking. But still, I really believe that everyone should work up a sweat at least once a week (I mean exercising, okay) and here's why:
- First of all: it keeps you slim. Obviously in combination with a healthy diet. Exercising and having a Big Mac, a kilo of fries, and a milkshake every day is pointless.
- Your head, it's so good for your head. I mean to clear it out. All the stress off you, frustrations out, and just putting that busy schedule aside for a moment.
- You become more confident. You feel strong.
- It's incredibly good for your health to keep moving and to keep your body a bit flexible. Just imagine having a walker at 70st already!
- But you also need to exercise mainly to prevent diseases. You are less likely to have heart problems, you keep your cholesterol in balance, and your blood sugar levels are stable.
- You get better fitness and stronger lungs. No smoking, okay!
- Your metabolism speeds up a lot, which is no unnecessary luxury.
- Exercising keeps you cheerful. Do you remember that one substance you produce when your heart rate goes up?
- You sleep better because of it.
- You generally have more energy.
- And you also feel healthier because of it, right?
Well, if I can't get you to the gym now... Will you send me a text when you've been? I'm already proud.
