A LITTLE MORE ABOUT HILLARY
Yesterday I wrote an article about Hillary Clinton. I praised her knowledge, experience, and once again mentioned how great it will be when she takes her place in The Oval Office.
Because I believe in the power of clothing as a tool to help you move towards your goal, I gave Hillary some (extremely unsolicited, by the way) style advice.
I love clothing and women and enjoy advising strong women (like Eva Jinek, whom we dress for her talk show) on the look that best supports their message.
Hillary Clinton is making history. The first female presidential candidate ever. Because I am captivated by the situation, I climbed onto my soapbox and wrote what I, in my humble opinion, would like to share with Hillary style-wise. With a slightly ironic undertone, another soapbox. Because while I may find clothing of great importance, it remains superficial and is not a cure for cancer.
Hillary for president!
And then it exploded. On Facebook. On Twitter. Radio 1 called, websites wrote pieces about me stating that I would be engaging in ‘internalized sexism’. Because why do we judge women on their appearance but not men? Unless they look very different like our Donald.
I was also asked that. Why I didn't write about Donald Trump's clothing style. Well, because that man, in my opinion, should get as little attention as possible and because I don't consider myself an expert in men's fashion. That's why. And the fact that it immediately concerns women's appearance, well. You can also use that to your advantage and enjoy it. And more success. Seems like a win-win situation to me.
My words did not resonate well with everyone. That’s not necessary, although everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but I still felt the need to make a small clarification. I didn't mean it that badly, actually.
Given the stir my words caused, I can at least conclude that our Hillary has many fans who are willing to go to the barricades for her, and that seems to me the best news of all.
Hillary for president! Even if it's in that straight suit :-).
