JUST FAINTING: THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ISLAND IN THE WORLD

I thought I had been there last year. The most paradisiacal piece of land on earth. During a vacation in Curaçao, my love convinced me to go to ‘Klein Curaçao’, an uninhabited mini-island where every person must have been at least once.

After a hellish boat trip (you ride for about two hours against the high waves and one in six people gets sick) we arrived. It was heavenly. The sand was so white it hurt your eyes. The water so light blue that you could count the scales of every fish. It is a true mecca for divers, snorkelers, and sunbathers. The Bahamas, the Maldives; everything suddenly seemed insignificant. So if you ever travel to Curaçao, you are crazy if you don't get on that boat. Despite the waves. Just so you know.

‘But what if I tell you it can be even more beautiful?’

Okay, so far this ridiculously long intro, because actually, I'm on my way to tell you that there is an island that is even more beautiful. In fact: the most beautiful spot on earth, according to travel magazine Travel + Leisure For the second time in a row, they have declared Palawan in the Philippines the most beautiful island in the world. So I immediately grab Google and lo and behold, in no time I'm feeling butterflies behind my screen. This is just disgustingly beautiful. The perfect relaxation holiday, I read. A paradise on earth. With the most beautiful coral ever. The most remarkable thing of all is the underground river Puerto Princesa, the longest underground river in Asia and also declared one of the world's best natural wonders.

Well yes, you might have to fly for over 17 hours (not so relaxing if you're a nervous flyer), but once you reach your destination, you will have completely forgotten about that. I don't often shove posts under my love's nose, but he's definitely going to read this one. So, shall we go, Sander? We're still looking for a summer destination for November, right? RIGHT?
