THE MOST ROMANTIC MAN ON EARTH

Last weekend I became a little hopeful again when it comes to romance. Well, hopeful or completely ruined, one of the two. Here’s the thing: I am a hopeless romantic. I still believe in the fairytale of a prince on a white horse. It can also be a prince in a fancy shmancy car, but that aside. I’ve only realized that if you want to meet one in Amsterdam, that search is practically the same as finding a needle in a haystack. Ain’t nobody got time for that. I also tried it in Brabant, but that prince in the sunny south unfortunately turned out to have no blue blood.

Let’s go back to last weekend when Kim Kardashian turned a year older. Usually, we are bizarre tweets used to from her hubby Kanye, but what he did this time for her birthday… Sigh. For everyone who doesn’t know, Kim’s father passed away in 2003. So what did Kanye do for her birthday? Well, he used all the footage her father recorded when the Kardashian kids were still young to make a video for her. See? Just look here at this. Isn’t this just the sweetest ever?

But this isn’t the first time Kanye has put his best foot forward. He has taken the term romantic to new heights. Okay, he might have just a bit more to spend than the average person, but seriously, who wouldn’t want this? Here are all of Kanye’s romantic gestures in one place:

When he proposed to her

A baseball stadium, an orchestra of 50 people, all her family and friends flown in, ‘PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!’ on the scoreboard… That’s a bit different than asking your girlfriend to marry you with a ring hidden in the dessert of your three-course dinner.

Kim’s very first Mother’s Day

A wall of white roses, peonies, and hydrangeas. Romantic and very Instagrammable.

Her second Mother’s Day

Again, an orchestra was involved. And Sam Smith. Kanye had them all flown to Brazil where Kim was at the time for work. Topped off with a thousand white roses. Stop it.

Valentine's Day

When Kim once received 1000 red roses for Valentine’s Day, I got socks. Socks, yes. Damn, what was that romantic. And no, we are no longer together.

Once Kim received the most beautiful little white kitty cat as a gift from Kanye. It turned out that Kim was allergic to it, but still. A tiny bundle of fluff. Cute!
