KIKI'S WINTER WHERE ABOUTS

Part 4

Just admit it. It's okay, I do it too. Since the whole month of December started, you've been out of sorts. Fatigue is setting in, you have little energy and actually want to binge-watch Netflix all day with a blanket over your head and eat calorie-rich food. Feeling a winter slump? I do. And every year, more than 500,000 people in the Netherlands do too. Fortunately, the world is wide and there are always tropical summer spots where it's nice to hang out in the winter. Are you bringing the sunscreen?

Miami, United States

Without a doubt one of the most famous cities in America to spend the winter. Are you a beach bum? Then Miami Beach is the place to be during these bleak months. I know several people who have taken a road trip along the coast of Florida and secretly stayed in Miami because of the relaxed atmosphere. The city has also been named the cleanest city in America by Forbes. The climate in December/January is very pleasant with temperatures around 22-26 degrees. Look, and that vitamin D sun injection is exactly what we need this winter. Besides beach hopping, there are plenty of other cool things to do in Miami. Immerse yourself in Cuban vibes during a visit to the Little Havana neighborhood, or take the perfect Insta-pic of the city from the top of the Freedom Tower. In the car-free streets of Lincoln Road and in the Dolphin Mall shopping center, you can shop until you drop. Also awesome: visit Parrot Jungle Island. This is an island where hundreds of parrots and other exotic birds live. And, if you are planning to go to Miami: about 150 kilometers away are the Bahamas. Several cruise ships operate day trips (or longer) back and forth. And in the Bahamas, there's a beach where you can swim with piglets. Oh, god, did someone say baby pigs? My suitcase is ready!
