ARE YOU COMING TO CLASS WITH ME?

(And drink some wine?)

Half a year ago, we thought it would be a nice idea to organize an evening in our guesthouse The Hoxton in Amsterdam. They provided snacks and wine, I would talk a bit about fashion. More specifically: about how to use clothing to earn more, make a better career, and climb higher in life.

Let them all talk, those sourpusses who think everything related to appearance is just silly chatter. Women who wear makeup earn an average of 20% more than women who pay less attention to their appearance. Women in heels also usually have a better job than women in flats. We’ve known for a long time that those exclusive Net-A-Porter boots by Isabel Marant were a good investment, but it’s always nice to have the proof on your side.

People will form an opinion about how you look anyway. So you might as well make sure that this image somewhat matches how you want to be seen. Everything you wear tells a story. That tattoo of that star on the inside of your wrist to your Cartier bracelet.

I love to talk about how important it is to have a signature look, because I dare say that every colorful and successful person has one. From Matthijs van Nieuwkerk to Maarten van Rossem (of which I actually have a funny anecdote in that light). And I enjoy helping you think about what your signature look could be and putting it together with you.

Last time, our evening was sold out within an hour. One hour. That’s why, at many requests, we are doing a reprise. We will do this on Wednesday, November 16. You are welcome at 6:00 PM, and we will enjoy some drinks and snacks in the cozy living kitchen, at 6:30 PM the teacher will start the lesson which lasts about an hour. After that, we have plenty of time for a chat and personal style advice.

I find it very cozy and inspiring to welcome you there. Usually, the women are so lovely that I hardly need to give personal style advice, haha, but a little sharpening and tightening can never hurt.

Reservations can be made here and I would say: do it quickly, because full is full and gone is gone. The cost is €20,-, but you will definitely get your money's worth in food and drinks. And did I mention that you get a goodie bag?
