My life in a bag

Merrith van den Bosch

Today we introduce you to one of the favorite bags that Merrith purchased during her ‘I feel like buying something’ impulse. Curious about what's inside and which ones are still on her wishlist? She tells us all about it. Are you reading along?

How many bags do you have?

‘Oh, I don't know exactly. I always have a few favorites that I use often. But I bought a lot of small bags abroad. Those bags that you should have thrown away a long time ago…’

What is the story behind this bag?

‘I actually bought this bag on a whim. Just because I felt like buying something. I'm still very happy with it. A lot fits in this bag and it goes with just about everything. So that's great.’

How do you handle your bag?

‘Not so well, I think. When I get home, I toss it in a corner and only use it again when I go out. In the meantime, I don't pay any attention to it.‘

What about the content?

‘Actually, it goes the same way: the contents stay in it until I use it again. Quite annoying actually, because my things are always scattered in different bags and I'm a bit chaotic, so I often lose things.’

What do you always have with you?

‘Lip balm, hair ties, and Tic Tac. I can't live without lip balm and I have a lot of it, there's always one in a bag. Every now and then I empty the bag, but that's more because I get crazy from losing everything.’

What do you think are the best features of a bag?

‘It's so fun to think about where the bag has been with you. To nice places abroad, for example. And when a bag is worn often, the leather gets more beautiful, I think.’

Which one is still on your wishlist?

‘The Lily from Mulberry and the Sac du Jour from Saint Laurent. And actually all the small bags from Chanel. Also the big ones, actually. I'm not difficult about that, you know.’
