My life in a bag

It's Tuesday again and that means it's time for a beautiful bag. And not just any bag... Today the new Gucci love of our friend Noor de Groot, also better known as Queen of Jetlags.

How many bags do you have?

‘I think about 40 bags, of which I really use 10 regularly, the others I switch sporadically. I hate changing the contents of my bag, so once I decide to use a bag, it usually takes a few months before I switch it again.’

What is the story behind this bag?

‘I have, just like many others, completely caught the Gucci mania. During the last Fashion Week, I saw quite a few people already with the Dionysus bag, mainly the one with all the logos. I had to have that bag. After searching a bit on the internet, I came across this variant on MyTheresa and I found it so special and the color really goes with everything. I also wanted a timeless bag, so that's why I decided not to go for the logos.’

How do you handle your bag?

‘I must say that I am really a messy person and my bags always look terrible, including my beloved Chanel bag. Since I am also getting older and at some point have to behave like an adult, I decided quite quickly that I would keep this bag neat. So far, that has worked: the inside is still clean and the outside looks great too.’

What about the content?

‘Well, the contents of this bag are still quite neat! I always carry a mirror, concealer, and lipstick with me. Besides that, a card holder for my cards, my phone of course, and usually also a charger. And candy, a lot of candy. In this bag, it’s all neatly organized, so hopefully, nothing will happen to it.’

What do you think are the best features of a bag?

‘I find it very important that I really feel like the bag completes my outfit once I have chosen it. This Gucci bag really makes any boring outfit cool and if I don't find my outfit very special, I still feel well-dressed by carrying the bag. Besides, a bag should of course have the function of carrying things, but let’s be honest: who cares? As long as my phone can fit in a bag, I'm happy.’

Which one is still on your wishlist?

‘I had the Chloe Faye bag on my wishlist for a while, but I just happened to purchase it this weekend. Hopefully, it arrives today and I’ll be just as happy with it as I am with this one. I don’t have a new one in mind yet, but I think it’s good that I wait a bit now.‘
