MILAN TRENDS #1
May and I stood early last sunny Saturday morning packed and ready at Schiphol, ready to catch two days of Milan Fashion Week. For those in the know, also called MFW, handy for scouring Instagram for everything related to the Milanese fashion week. With full suitcases, because outfits for the afternoon, the evening, and for the next day, we boarded the easyJet plane very glamorously. I would like to share the three most striking trends with you.
We have sniffed out the three most striking trends for you. Today, the first trend: Capes.
Following all the fashion ladies who casually wear their coat as a cape over their shoulder, this has now become a real hit. And I understand that; it looks refined, feminine, and that extra layer makes your look just a bit more exciting. I saw them in all sorts of variations. At Marni, it was short in the front and long in the back, and the arms were free. But we also saw tight and uniform around you with no choice but to let your arms hang straight down, beautifully adorned with golden buttons and satin pelerine. And what about the velvet fitted cape coat from Prada, decorated with uniform-like braids and a small fur collar that seemed to have come straight out of the Golden Age. It's not practical, as you can't ride a bike with it, but it is beautiful.
