MILAN TRENDS part 2

As soon as we touched down in Milan we were in the fall/winter mood since water was pouring out of the sky non-stop. A shame really, since everyone in fashion was hiding underneath umbrellas, rain jackets and everything else they could think of to keep dry.

But rain or shine, we effortlessly got inspired by all the newest trends. From disco dancing queens, princesses, artistic types and world travelers to women in suits – we saw it all.

The second trend we want to share with you today is: Sport.

The sporty look is one we don’t see all too often in the very feminine Milan, which is usually composed of a ton of lace, glitter, flowers and sequins. Even more surprising was the clash with an oversized American football shirt on a skirt with an authentic postcard print and vintage accessories at Gucci. But we also spotted body conscious catsuits with graphic stripes in the primary colors at Emilio Pucci which reminded us of something you would wear on the ski slopes. And we also saw some classically styled retro ski sweaters combined with high-waisted feminine trousers and XL earrings. If even the designers in Milan, who I’ve never once seen wear sweat pants, let their women run around the streets in a sporty outfit, then it’s got to be a hit. Mark my words.
