NEW YORK DIARY

Day 3

Put a gun to my head (preferably not of course, metaphorically speaking) and ask me which fashion week I prefer, and I will still say New York. Maybe the fashion here isn't as special as that in Paris and Milan, but anything can happen here.

You go there with an agenda, but in between, new adventures pop up. Last year, I suddenly found myself singing along with Fiona Hering in The Boom Boom Room while Duran Duran played within arm's reach of us. Another evening, I dined at Indochine next to Imaan, David Bowie's wife, and had coffee in Sarah's apartment, Doutzen's agent.
This New York Fashion Week is no exception. On Friday night, Gigi Hadid walked past me during the finale of her Gigi X Tommy show. I held my hand up and poof, we were high-fiving each other like crazy.

Yesterday at the Tibi show, we caught up with our friend Olivia Palermo (well, we asked her what she thought of the show and she said: ‘Fine’), but this morning I had a twenty-two-minute conversation with one of the coolest designers (and quite a big celebrity) of NYFW. About women, about makeup, about wanting to be the best version of yourself, the best mother, and the most fun woman. And also about doing your makeup without a mirror, something we both happen to be very good at.

But a star is a star is a star, and that comes with a cloud of magic and mystery. So now I can't say anything about it yet, but on September 17, I'm going all out. Be prepared, be very prepared.
