Happy & Healthy

THE NICEST LUNCH OF THE YEAR

Every now and then, our friends from Omoda and we organize a reader lunch. We take care of the location (extremely good reason to give the office a thorough cleaning) and for a Jettie & Simone-proof lunch, Omoda treats us to shoes.

While we were still scrubbing the kitchen floor on our hands and knees in the morning (I wish this was a joke and real life was a lot more glamorous, but it’s not), Gertie and Anneke from Omoda came in with stacks of boxes so that every reader would find a few in her size. Unless everyone was after the same pair, but then the shoes would be shipped the same day and they would still have them at home the next day. That’s the Omoda policy that I often take advantage of. Ordered before ten o'clock (in the evening, mind you) means the next day on your feet. What’s also nice is that if you’re in an Omoda store and the pair of shoes you want isn’t available in your size, they will order it for you and send it directly to your home.

I cried from crying and from laughing...

Anyway, I digress, although I want to say that we had made a pre-selection of shoes. Always good Stan Smiths, but then ‘next level’ with a red stitch. Super nice biker boots from Tommy Hilfiger (also Josselin's favorite) and low gray cowboy boots and intensely preppy men's shoes (but then feminine) from Tommy Hilfiger.

So the shoes were definitely good, the lunch was top-notch catered by Dr. Blend with the tastiest salads, veggie burgers, and sandwiches, so then it was just waiting to see what the company would bring. Sometimes a mixed group of women can feel a bit awkward, but here it took off immediately. With the first sip of their Purdey’s, they were already talking about fresh relationships, a newly started business, mother-daughter friendships, and Manon shared her story about the cervical cancer that hit her this year. But in a hilarious way. I cried from crying and from laughing, and when everyone left (indeed all with a pair of shoes of their choice in their size), life might not be perfect, but this Friday afternoon couldn’t have been better for me.

Are you incredibly in the mood for online shopping inspiration? This are my personal favorites for this autumn.
