Our girl in New York

What our dear Bo is up to this week? You can read about it here!

Around the corner from the pink house is Hudson Street and on that street The Butcher’s Daughter opened its newest location where I met up with my friend C. on Friday. It was supposed to be a glass of wine, and it was. And then it turned into that avocado dip, the vegan pasta, and gin tonics. All The Butcher’s Daughter's fault. We sat front row, got drinks offered from the bar (look, there you go) and ended up dancing to disco music at Acme. Yes. This is summer in New York. Or: this is me who can never stick to just one wine...

I always have the feeling that we just happen to run into the Farmers Market on the weekend. But I think it’s just always there. So also this weekend. Upcoming and I are wandering around a bit: I’m mainly looking for the flower stalls, but I don’t take anything with me. In this oppressive heat, every colorful little thing hangs pretty quickly at half past six, and after twenty minutes we do too. Off to the air conditioning, because god oh god, it’s unbearable in this city. Bizarrely hot, still. So a recommendation for any future visitors to our island: never come in the middle of summer or have no shame and hang out as a tourist in a bikini.

Bushwick in Brooklyn has Tiki Disco every Sunday. Go there! It’s outside, there are sweet punch drinks, free sunglasses, and disco tunes. So, what’s stopping you?

I did go home on time, because it was movie night. Long pants, long sleeves, and a scarf aka mini-blanket in the bag. It’s freezing in the cinema, throw in an XL soda with ice and you come rolling out of the hall like an ice block. That’s why I went down the street in this air conditioning-resistant outfit, and that was quite a puffing task under the current climate conditions.

Here you see Blue and his monthly spa treatment at home. He doesn’t care for it. But as a gift (besides his ultra-soft pouf-coupe) he gets to sleep in our bed at night.
