Onze Meisje in New York
The days are getting shorter. It's even still dark when the clock strikes seven in the morning and I routinely press the button for the first coffee of the day. And then there was the winter coat. I can still wear it open, but from the still dark depths of my closet, this was the first one to come out. The thermal shirts, leggings for underpants, and extra insulated snow boots are still there, thankfully. But give it three months and this part will also be fully in use.
After a lunch in Gossip Girl-like atmospheres with my Mexican friend in Bergdorf, we stroll back downtown. I make a pit stop at Apple for the latest phone. In black and the plus version. But it still doesn't work: completely sold out. Then strawberries with white chocolate it is. And of course, a styled picture before consuming it...
Finally, I get to write a story about one of the most fun events of the past fashion season: the launch of Aerin Tangier Vanille. The granddaughter of Estée Lauder invited Amayzine to be at her latest perfume presentation on the insane rooftop terrace of The Nomad Hotel. Read my piece about it soon on Amayzine, which by the way was typed from bed with a swollen flu head. It's going around. Damn.
Buried under remedies like Antigrippine and a dose of sparkling vitamin C, I manage to pull myself together for an event by Swarovski at Spring Studios. In honor of their collaboration with the incredibly inspiring type Céline Cousteau (who made the amazing documentary Tribute to Tribe), Swarovski is hosting a cocktail party. On the sixth floor with an insane view and in a room completely draped in bling, but with a message. Everything is sustainable and inspired by nature and all its beauty. And I try a small glass of wine. There, that tastes good. I think I'm better again?
