OUR GIRL IN NEW YORK

What our dear Bo is up to this week? You can read about it here!

Loaded with a set of five sandals, bikinis, and an abundance of summer dresses, we step out of the car after four (!) hours. This ride should take less than half of that. But as soon as Memorial Weekend unofficially opens the season, all of New York flees to Long Island. Most with a final destination of The Hamptons. Just like us. So there we were. Stuck in traffic. Just like all our fellow travelers. During the painfully long ride, I decide to never do this again. I mean, how nice can The Hamptons really be? But after a weekend spent in the eastern village of this notorious place, I get it. It’s so nice here. When can I get back into that traffic?

Wölffer Estate! The vineyard you must never skip. We go around sunset, and combined with the blooming fields, an acoustic country band in the background, and children playing among the grapes, it creates an idyllic scene. It’s beautiful here, and that wine is delicious. This is, as the name of the wine suggests, truly ‘Summer in a Bottle’.

Nooooo, we’re going back! Blue is still enjoying himself. The little creature is utterly happy, and I reluctantly pack all the unworn dresses and flip-flops back up. But the aversion to returning to all the noise and hysteria disappears as soon as the city appears in all its glory on the horizon. Home is not The Hamptons, but it’s just as nice.

Ladurée macarons are well known to us all, and spending time in her garden in SoHo should be too. At least, I sit, look around, and actually only see tourists. So I believe that the garden and the macarons are now equally famous. Oh well, it’s still a little gift, right in the middle of SoHo.

In one day, I shoot tons of looks for my blog, hang by the pool of the Dream Hotel, consume a beet salad there, and before the sun sets, I meet my friend Q for some pre-dinner bites at Via Carota. Yes, it was a good day.

While we are still fully immersed in summer vibes, UNIQLO is already busy with autumn. Although I really shouldn’t think about that yet, I still stop by my friends at UNIQLO to try on, feel, and discuss the new collection. In a huge loft, I am welcomed and shown around. And I must honestly admit that all those woolen jackets evoke autumn feelings. Yes, the collection is a success, and this bomber jacket is at the top of my list!

Happy Birthday, Blue! Our living teddy bear is 1! With presents, cake, and Filet Mignon, we celebrate his birthday. Hip hip hooray!
