Fun & Famous
Our Girl Kiek is back
A very good afternoon friends, PARTY! The lost holiday sheep has returned to Amayzine headquarters. Yes, I was chilling in the Antilles for three weeks, yes, I spammed the world with all sorts of colorful and nice things on my Insta (not sorry at all, secretly you would do exactly the same), and now it's time to crawl back behind the screen and get back to reality.
Because I really missed writing, my crazy Amayzers and yes, you too. However, I couldn't count on a cheerful welcome committee. It turns out that I've been placed in a corner of the editorial office because no one wants to be in a room with me any longer because “KIEK. HUUUU. WHAT ARE YOU BRUUUUN. GO AWAY!!!” I seriously thought it wouldn't be that bad, but when I saw about twenty-eight ‘how then?’ looks sliding my way at Utrecht Central this morning, I knew it was serious. I normally never go on vacation in December and it's just very strange to be as brown as a gingerbread cookie at this time of year. But okay, give me two weeks of fun, okay? After that, I'll peel off like a salamander three times and then I'll just go back to being white for the winter, just like all the other kale heads. No worries.
How was it? Absolutely amazing. Aside from the rain the first week (like are you kidding me…) I had a GREAT time with my love and mostly relaxed wonderfully. Know which places you must visit in Curaçao and you'll have a great holiday, trust me. Are you hesitating to also take that winter escape to the Antilles? I say: do it. And here's why:
1. Winter/summer, doesn't matter, the weather is always great. Okay, you might have some rain in the rainy season, yeah duh, but an hour later you're already baking on your sunbed.
2. Speaking of baking. The beaches. Holy fuckeroni guacamole. Those beaches are unreal. That sand. SO WHITE. That sea. SO BLUE.
3. Everyone understands you. Some people really find it super super stupid. I actually don't find it that annoying. Because Dutch spoken with an Antillean accent sounds so tropical.
4. The relaxed atmosphere. You have to be able to handle it, though, because according to some hotheads, everything goes a bit too slow in the Antilles. But if you ask me: it can't go slow enough on vacation.
5. And last but not least: your tan, your mood, and your Insta. Very insta-worthy stuff happens there on that island. And then I'll come back to you tomorrow with the best spots and hotspots in Curaçao, deal?
6. AMAYZINE, I’VE MISSED YOU!
