The designer belt

They say you become infected by what you associate with, and that applies here as well. I’m not yet wearing sneakers like Jet, but we are both going through ‘our period’ (very handy for stocking up on OBs), we both have pain in our left shoulder (and also no idea how we got it), and suddenly we have a fashion item that needs to go in the shopping cart. The belt. Because a belt is of course the ultimate fashion item. You take a bag (here are 5 compelling reasons why you should buy a designer bag) and a belt, and okay, good shoes, and then you really can't go wrong with your look.

Now you might say: but for a decent belt, you quickly pay two hundred euros. And I say: you still have to do it. Here’s the evidence.

1. It elevates everything

Old jeans, a simple white shirt... Just imagine a Gucci belt with that. You're already sold, right?

2. It transforms every piece of clothing

Just think about what it does for you when you wear it over a blazer. Or that long blouse dress you wore straight down last week, but now gets a whole different silhouette with that belt. Or your little black dress that you've had forever, just imagine that wide Alexander McQueen belt with it. Okay, that one is 749 euros, sorry...

3. You have a designer experience

I've written before about why it's so nice to buy a designer piece. You can read it here, but in summary, it comes down to the fact that every detail has been given attention. This morning, for example, I saw that the top of the buckle of my Gucci sandal is also subtly stamped with GUCCI in the metal. I love that. And you get it in a nice box with crinkly tissue paper in a designer bag. When you think about it, a few hundred euros is really nothing for such an experience.

4. People see that you love fashion

And that you are willing to invest in beautiful things. And that means a million dollar treatment as soon as you walk into other clothing stores.
