MARIE-CLAIRE IN MALIBU
In Malibu, you think of the sea and the beach and all the celebrities who live along the coast in large villas or beach houses, but if you look on the other side of the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway), there are so many beautiful houses, many of which have horse ranches. In short, that is a house with horse stables. Just visiting a ranch is very special, and riding a horse is even more so. My dear friend José (a Dutch woman who has lived here for a long time and is married to an American) took me to the ranch where her horses are, nestled among the beautiful mountains in an expansive area. There is even a giraffe, a zebra, and three camels. You can take wonderful rides there. I rode a horse for the first time and found it quite exciting. Well, not entirely for the first time. Once, in a distant past, I rode a horse in the Andes mountains of Chile. Also very special, but I was just cargo then. Now I was going to do it all by myself. First at a trot and then at a gallop. Super. What a wonderful feeling to be one with the horse and nature. To ride through the mountains and along the vineyards is truly magical. You feel like you are in a western movie or in an episode of ‘Little House on the Prairie’. I believe this is for me the ultimate Malibu feeling.
