PS WHAT? YES, PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE SEASON

It’s finally there: PSL Season

PS what? Yes, Pumpkin Spice Latte Season.

When I stood on my little balcony last Sunday, staring at my cheerful pot of slavoer, I was overwhelmed by a somewhat intense feeling of nostalgia.

I stared at the first discolored leaves on the sidewalk, with the sun on my face and trembling legs from my pole dancing class an hour earlier (but that’s beside the point).

So, homesick.

Autumn is approaching and I love it so much. Indian Summer is one of the most beautiful seasons in Virginia (USA) where I spent a long time with Mr. X. I could really enjoy long walks (including heavily filled picnic baskets) through the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, but also the smell of sweet pumpkin and cinnamon in the huge department stores that America is rich in. And yes, and from Starbucks (never thought I would say this, because I actually don’t like the coffee).

So every year it was a sport to be the first to order a PSL at Starbucks (a little competition between my dearest niece and me). But Mierzoet (really with a giant capital letter) therefore. And instead of the standard four pumps of sweet junk, I made it one, without whipped cream of course and with soy. So let’s say about 150 kcal instead of the usual 400, in other words, a complete breakfast.

Pumpkin Spice Soy Latte, extra hot but just one shot, no whipped cream. Ha! I’m just joining in on the craze ‘How long can you make your Starbucks order?’.

And after a long wait, Amsterdam is thankfully also joining in on the whole PSL craze and so the homesickness eases a little bit. No Blue Ridge Mountains, but the beautiful canals… And Starbucks.

Nikje, who’s first?
