This way you get rid of your old clothes and get new ones at a discount

Of course we want to contribute to a better world. Or at least not cooperate in destroying ours. But if I may speak for myself, that doesn’t mean I’m only going to buy second-hand clothes and (oh horror) -shoes. Or buy almost nothing. Sorry, but that just ain’t me.

What I do pay attention to is that I buy sustainable clothing. That is produced in a fair way. An important pillar is the reuse of clothing. Exactly, recycling. Just like we do with our plastic and glass bottles (I even rinse out Nutella jars and throw them in the glass bin), we do that with our clothing too. Just go through your closet every now and then. See what you can make a friend and colleague happy with and then go to H&M with a full bag.
